A playful historical film built around a simple truth: even kings and queens need somewhere they can truly rule. With the agency and client giving us room to push the idea, we expanded the world across different eras, cultures and kingdoms, following a succession of rulers as they escape ceremony and responsibility to enjoy surprisingly ordinary moments of personal freedom. Shot in Romania over two demanding days, we transformed an abandoned palace into a succession of miniature worlds. Production design, period wardrobe and casting did something magical: for a few hours, each set genuinely felt like a different time and place. With a huge number of costumes to cover, it was exhausting and precise, but also one of the most rewarding shoots I've had the chance to make.
